From August 5 to 7, the Man-made Cellulosic Fiber Traceability and Sustainability Forum, jointly organized by CV, Canopy, and FSC, was held in Sanming, Fujian, China. Over 50 representatives from MMCF producter, NGO, brands, certification bodies, and pulp suppliers gathered and engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues for sustainable development of MMCF Value Chain. All parties exchanged views on forest conservation, biodiversity, treatment of wastewater, exhaust gas, and solid waste, exhaust emission standard revisions, industrial cooperation, and circular economy.

Representatives reached a consensus that the industry needs to pool its efforts to jointly address the dual challenges of environmental standard upgrades and supply chain traceability compliance, breaking through with high-quality development. Going forward, the industry will focus on improving sustainability performance, brand building, and product innovation, and strive to participate deeply in standard formulation, transitioning from a "quality executor" to a "rule-maker and leader." 

Guan Xiaorui, Vice President of the CCFA, offered three recommendations in her closing remarks: proactively respond to diverse demands for industrial upgrading; embrace green challenges while maintaining compliance baselines; and promote coordinated supply chain advancement drawing on best practices.

During the forum, participants visited Qingshan Paper to inspect bamboo pulp production innovations and Guanzhou Forest Farm to survey Chinese fir cultivation.

Hu Kehua, Deputy Director of the Social Responsibility Office of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, delivered a report on green policies and the regenerated cellulose fiber industry, highlighting EU policy impacts and the importance of proactive compliance.

Zhang Zixin, Director of CCFA behalf of CV, presented the five-year outlook for the MMCF industry and provided an overview of the development of the CV Roadmap 2030.

Maryann Ramirez and Tamara Stark from Canopy delivered a report on next-generation fibers and forest conservation, emphasizing that next-generation fibers can hedge supply chain risks and that Canopy supports protecting 30% of forests globally.

Li Chenyang from FSC (China) presented a report on FSC Ecosystem Services Verification, highlighting the tool's ability to verify forest impacts across seven dimensions and reduce greenwashing risks.

Zhang Yicheng, Manager of Qingshan Paper, presented a report on bamboo fiber sustainability, sharing the Qingshan's green practices including the ECOBAMBOO brand and REBOOCEL recycled bamboo fiber, with FSC bamboo pulp now recognized in Canopy's Next Generation Fibers directory.
